Toywheel introduces app that connects toys and augmented reality | Impact Lab
April 15th, 2014 at 1: 45 pm ToywheelKids grow up with different technology and toys these days than we did, but you dont need to be a geek mom or dad to realize that. To play Toy Car RC, simple targets can be printed with standard printers and placed throughout the play area (living room, childrens room, etc.), where afterwards the virtual car can drive through.
I like the thinking behind this. The need to have a printed out marker may detract people from wanting to check it out, but it looks like something that could really take off if they make that process super simple. Augmented reality through mobile devices is such a great fit, but for whatever reason it just hasn’t had the attention it deserves yet. Hopefully this is the start of a new wave of interest.
