Gear VR versus Oculus Rift
Standing up and moving around with a virtual reality headset is risky. We don’t know how long it’ll take to get to the magic VR sunglasses that are untethered. Heck, when it launches this October alongside the Note 4, everything you can do on it will be free experiences.
Interesting little article comparing the tradeoffs between using a tethered VR headset connected to a computer with all of its computing power, compared to a VR device that works via a mobile phone and is untethered. I kind of feel the article misses the point though. The act of sitting in a VR space to me is exactly that, a sitting experience. Unless some form of augmented reality becomes part of the experience, walking around is just going to result in injury.
